Our work with Cricket Scotland is centred on creating a dynamic, scalable digital hub that unites the cricketing community under one powerful, future-proofed platform, transforming how the sport is experienced online. Our approach has focused on visual impact, functionality, and accessibility, showcasing all aspects of the governing body’s involvement with the game.
Delivered over three phases, the website will ultimately provide a seamless integration with multi-media, live updates, scoring, membership and registration under one roof, providing an engaging environment for all Cricket Scotland stakeholders. At its core is Directus, a flexible content management system and data platform that empowers Cricket Scotland to efficiently manage vast amounts of content with ease and support the sport’s ongoing future development.
Built with Next.js, the website leverages its server-side rendering (SSR) capabilities to ensure exceptional performance and scalability, even under high traffic loads. This architecture enables rapid page loads and seamless user experiences across hundreds of content-rich pages, all while keeping operational costs low through efficient resource usage.
Directus provides a highly customisable content model, making it simple to structure and maintain diverse content types such as match reports, player profiles, and event schedules. This scalable solution meets the demands of the site’s high-traffic while providing the flexibility to adapt to future needs. The result is a high-performing, cost-effective platform that not only supports their marketing goals but also fosters deeper engagement with cricket fans across Scotland and beyond.
